Here is my reading list for 2017. I am such an avid reader and an advocate for reading that it is important to me that I share where I am pulling ideas and my reasoning from. I am always up for a discussion or suggestions on books so do contact me to share.
Blue Ocean Strategy
Thoughtful read on pursuing uncontested market space as opposed to competitive "red oceans" in business. Great strategies on how to actually craft or create that uncontested space.
One of my favorite reads so far this year. This book is helpful in hacking your way to where you want to be. There is a clear distinction here between smart vs. short cuts.
The Innovator's Dilemma
The book on the quintessential business paradox: why do great companies do all the right things and still fail. Helpful in thinking about innovating in existing businesses and a good compliment to Blue Ocean Strategy.
The Intelligent Investor
Warren Buffet says this book changed his life and it is worth the read. As someone who is quick to jump, this book has been helpful in being more diligent and displined about my business pursuits.
Thinking Fast and Slow
Great read on identifying biases and blindspots in our thinking. We cannot eliminate our biases or weaknesses in our thinking, but this books shows us where our blindspots are so that we can guard against them.
Zero to One
The PayPal founder discusses the importance of tackling some of the most pressing issues of our time and how to get started with that meaningful work.
Special thank you to my mentor. I try to read whatever he is reading.
